Interactive Studios developed WarGames Defcon 1 , a video game that was published by MGM Interactive and Electronic Arts for the PlayStation and Microsoft Windows (MGM Interactive was the only publisher of the game in North America). Though both versions feature the same missions and content, the PC version is a real-time strategy game called WarGames Defcon 1 Free (similar to Jeff Wayne’s The War of the Worlds), while the PlayStation version is a tactical vehicle-shooting game. John Badham, who also directed the first WarGames movie, wrote the story for the WarGames Defcon 1, which is mostly based on that movie.
