Game Description

Tumblebugs is a fast-paced puzzle game developed by Wildfire Studios. It was released for a number of platforms, including Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, and WiiWare. An updated version for Windows, Tumblebugs Remastered was released for sale in April 2018.

Before they reach the entrance to the underground stronghold of the Black Bug Empire, you must save every bug that is rolling across the screen. The player loses a life when a bug approaches the opening, and the remaining bugs in the line dash underground as rapidly as possible. By aiming a colored insect from Tumble’s back at a cluster of two or more identically colored balls, the user can save the bugs. When three or more bugs of the same color come into contact with each other, they are released, possibly setting off a chain reaction in which further bugs also flee.

On a few bugs in the queue, Powerup indicators will occasionally show up. You can obtain the Powerup if you finish the group while it’s active. The Powerup will flash swiftly and finally vanish if you don’t acquire it.

Game modes

Tumblebugs has a choice of Story Mode or Time Trial Mode.

There are four backyards where the Black Bugs have taken over, and there are a total of 12 stages in Story Mode. All of the levels you have so far unlocked are displayed on the level selection screen. Each round is given a number to indicate where you are in it. For instance, if you are at 3-2, this is level 3’s second round.

In time trial mode, the difficulty is steadily increased as you test your endurance on your favorite map. As you advance in Story Mode, more maps will become available in Time Trial Mode, but for now, you can choose from any of the ones you’ve already earned.
