  • WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007

    WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007

WWE SmackDown is a professional wrestling video game series developed by Yuke’s and published by THQ (later 2K Sports). The series features wrestlers from WWE and is named after the WWE SmackDown television program. The series was first released in 2000 and has since become one of the most popular wrestling games in the world.

The first game in the series, WWE SmackDown!, was released in 2000 for the PlayStation console. The game featured a roster of wrestlers from the WWE’s SmackDown brand, as well as a create-a-wrestler mode and a variety of match types. The game’s graphics and gameplay were praised by critics, and it became a best-seller.

The series has continued to be released annually, with each new installment featuring updated rosters, new match types, and improved graphics and gameplay. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw, released in 2004, introduced the ability to create custom pay-per-view events and the option to play as a tag team. WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2006 added the “road to WrestleMania” story mode, in which players could guide their character through the WWE calendar and compete in matches to earn a spot in the WrestleMania event.

In addition to traditional wrestling matches, the series has also included a variety of mini-games and other modes. For example, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007 introduced a “general manager” mode, in which players could act as the manager of a wrestling brand and make decisions about booking matches, signing wrestlers, and more.

Throughout its history, the WWE SmackDown series has featured a large roster of wrestlers from the WWE, including popular wrestlers such as The Rock, John Cena, and Triple H. The series has also included wrestlers from other wrestling promotions, including WCW and ECW.

In recent years, the WWE SmackDown series has also introduced various online features, allowing players to compete against each other online and access downloadable content such as new wrestlers and arenas.

Overall, the WWE SmackDown series has been a popular and enduring franchise, offering players the opportunity to step into the world of professional wrestling and experience the excitement of the ring.

THQ announced that the new analog control grappling system in WWE SmackDown would offer a more realistic combat experience by allowing players to throw their opponents anywhere they choose, rather than following predetermined animations. This system also uses analog control for grappling moves, rather than the button-based system of previous games. Players can also choose to use the original control scheme or use analog control to move around the ring.

The chain reversal system has been updated to include grapples and strikes, and movesets for wrestlers are now based on weight class. Lighter wrestlers can use martial arts or luchador moves, while heavier wrestlers can use more powerful moves. In addition, wrestlers can only lift or damage opponents who are one weight class lighter or heavier.

The game also features interactive elements in the arenas, such as audience fights where players can use signs and items to attack their opponents. The PlayStation 2 version has some restrictions on crowd fighting and involvement in certain match types.

  • Commandos: Strike Force

    Commandos: Strike Force

Game Overview: Commandos – Strike Force

The fifth and last game in the Commandos series, Commandos: Strike Force, is a first-person tactical shooter video game released in 2006. It was a break from the series’ customary top-down viewpoint, developed by Pyro Studios and released by Eidos Interactive.

    New Direction in Gameplay

Released in early 2006, Commandos: Strike Force introduced a significant shift in gameplay compared to its predecessors. While maintaining the core elements of multiple objectives and character-switching for diverse approaches, this installment adopted a first-person perspective. This departure from the overhead view of previous titles brought it closer in style to popular titles like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty.

    Mission Dynamics

The missions in Commandos: Strike Force retained the familiar structure of the series, incorporating various objectives achievable through stealth or force. Players could seamlessly switch between characters, enhancing strategic flexibility. This evolution in gameplay aimed to provide a more immersive and intense experience for players.

    Developer and Publisher Collaboration

Pyro Studios, the creative force behind the Commandos series, developed Commandos: Strike Force. Eidos Interactive, known for publishing notable titles, brought this installment to the gaming community. The collaboration resulted in a game that combined the established Commandos universe with contemporary first-person shooter elements.

    summary

Commandos: Strike Force marked a radical break from the series’ conventional format when it was released in 2006. A first-person viewpoint was added, giving the tactical shooter genre a new, lively dimension and bringing it more in line with the era’s hit games. Strike Force, the last installment in the Commandos saga, proved the franchise’s ability to adjust to changing gaming trends and made a lasting impression on fans.

    [title] Gameplay

In many ways, The House of the Dead III differs from the first two games, including weaponry; player characters are armed with shotguns rather than the semiautomatic pistols used in the first two games. The shotgun in III for Xbox no longer requires the traditional “point off-screen” reload, but instead reloads automatically. Reloading still takes time, but it happens automatically as soon as the gun requires it. The arcade version differs in this regard because light guns are present, allowing for similarly quick reloading. Pumping the shotgun controller results in a reload. The light gun controller released by Madcatz may be used while playing the game on Xbox; however, the traditional “shoot off-screen” reload was reintroduced in the Wii version.

The previous games had a branching storyline, but it was handled differently. Prior to the start of most stages in The House of the Dead III, the player is given options for navigating through the game, ultimately going through the same areas with different results depending on the order chosen.

Another significant distinction is the absence of civilians. Unlike the first two House of the Dead games, in which players could save a variety of people in danger, The House of the Dead III contains no additional characters beyond those essential to the plot. Instead, “Rescue Events” occur throughout each stage, requiring players to save their partners from attacking zombies. Each successful rescue earns you an extra life. If all rescue missions are completed successfully, players will discover crates in the room before the final boss that, when shot, will drop a large number of bonuses and lives.

Another significant difference is the absence of civilians. Unlike the first two The House of the Dead games, in which players could save a variety of people in danger, The House of the Dead III contains no additional characters beyond those essential to the plot. Instead, “Rescue Events” occur during each stage, in which players must rescue their partners from attacking zombies. For each successful rescue, an extra life is awarded. If all rescue events are successful, players will find crates in the room before the final boss that, when shot, will drop a large number of bonuses and lives.

The series introduces a new concept in the form of a “Cancel” bar. Previously, the bosses’ weak point only needed to be shot once to stun the attack. In this game, the weak point of the bosses must be shot repeatedly in order to drain the “Cancel” bar and stop the enemy’s attack.

Another significant change to the gameplay is the introduction of a new rank and grade system. Players are now graded on how quickly they dispatch zombies, with options ranging from Excellent, Good, Faster, and Twin Shot, with the latter occurring if two zombies are killed with the same shotgun shell. At the end of each stage, a letter grade ranging from S to A, B, C, D, and E is assigned. Completing the stage with an A rank earns the player one extra life, while completing it with a S rank earns the player two. At the end of the game, a final grade is assigned, and depending on how many S ranks the player received for each stage, the player may be assigned a “SS” rank as the final grade.

Extra lives and bonus points are handled differently as well. Nothing happened in previous arcade instalments if a player had all five lives and gained another. The player can now have up to nine lives at once, and any extra lives are converted into bonus points. Bonus points could also be earned in previous games by shooting hidden objects such as a golden frog or a coin. This is expanded upon in The House of the Dead III, which introduces a silver coin that can be shot repeatedly, a wind-up robot that must be shot several times, and a golden miniature version of the recurring boss The Magician. Decaying zombies and weak points on stunned bosses can also be shot multiple times for bonus points.

On the Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3, and Wii versions, there is a “Time Attack” mode in which the player’s lives are displayed as a timer beginning at 45 seconds. Extra time is granted by Excellent, Good, Faster, and Twin Shots, as well as clocks in the background, successful rescue events, and end-of-stage bonuses. Being hit by a zombie deducts 7 seconds, projectiles deduct 5, and bosses deduct 15. The player gains 10 seconds after stunning a boss. Every successful hit on the final boss grants two seconds and eliminates the need for a stun. If the timer reaches zero, the game is over, and Dr. Curien analyses the player’s performance at the end of each game. The player should also keep track of the average distance they were able to keep the undead at bay in meters.

  • Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion

    Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion

    Game Description

Clue (known as Cluedo outside of North America) is a video game released in 1998 that is based on a board game of the same name. Depending on whether the country of release used American or British English, it is also known as Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion or Cluedo: Murder at Blackwell Grange.

The clue is compatible with Microsoft Windows. EAI created it in 1998 for Hasbro Interactive. When Hasbro Interactive went out of business in 2000, Infogrames (now Atari) took over publishing rights for Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion. Because of the six suspects, the game, like the board game, is designed for 3-6 players. When it first came out, the game received mostly positive feedback.

    [title] Gameplay

Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion has the same goal as the board game on which it is based: find the murderer, the room where Mr. Boddy/Dr. Black died, and the weapon was used.

Clue has an additional mode that allows movement via “points” in addition to playing by the original rules. Each turn begins with nine points, and each action taken by the player costs points. The player can only do as much as he has points for. Moving from square to square, for example, costs one point; making a suggestion costs three points. Many players prefer this mode of play because it balances Clue: Murder at Boddy Mansion by giving each player the same number of “moves” each turn.

    A few features of Clue:

The Providence Journal described Clue Murder at Boddy Mansion as having a “film-noir environment (like a 1940s murder-mystery film).” Christian Spotlight explains that these can be turned off if desired.

“Each room is richly created in loving detail, complete with exotic period furniture and secret passages,” according to AllGame. The Butler’s deep, sonorous voice, which announces events as they happen, enhances both the mood and the gameplay. “Cluedo takes place mostly in the house where the murder was committed, creating a chilling atmosphere,” Spong says. The environments are beautifully rendered, and all of the characters from the original board game appear in full 3D.”

According to Cnet, “Clue features full animations of the characters as they move from room to room. While this is fun for a while, you’re probably better off sticking with the standard overhead view of the board. Along with the animations, there is an excellent soundtrack that includes sounds from the storm outside the mansion and a commanding butler who calls out each suggestion as it is played “.. “The “autonomous” feature, takes notes on what cards you’ve seen, doesn’t record what suggestions have already been made, so making educated guesses as to which cards people don’t have based on their suggestions becomes a pen and paper experience,” it continues.

The background music is influenced by jazz and film noir. According to Christian Spotlight, “The music is a little tedious, simply repeating the same bars over and over. Fortunately, the music is soft and not too distracting “.. “Click on some of the objects in each area and be surprised by the many short animations that unfold,” it added.

“A multi-player option over LAN offers something new to Cluedo that only a video game can accomplish,” says Spong. Whether you’re playing competitively or cooperatively, the experience makes Clue Murder at Boddy Mansion online much more sociable and enjoyable. And it’s possible that just this gameplay addition will make Cluedo: Murder at Blackwell Grange a thoroughly enjoyable experience.” Clue 1998 was originally linked to MSN Gaming Zone; however, MSN no longer hosts the game. Links to online play in-game now point to an invalid URL address. “The Internet play is absolutely flawless, even over a slow Internet connection,” says Christian Spotlight. The game is stable and well-supported. Play with a group of friends or family members on a computer or over the Internet. However, for large groups in a single location, the original board game is far more convenient than squeezing around a computer keyboard and mouse.”

Clue 1998 employs an algorithm that allows it to be reused, eliminating the need for multiple levels. In the game Clue, “The concept is to start a new game each time. This particular game presents a new puzzle to the player with each new game, ensuring that Clue Murder at Boddy Mansion is novel to him/her each time “- despite using the same game mechanics – having a different 3-card solution.

  • Star Trek Legacy

    Star Trek Legacy

Star Trek Legacy was originally scheduled for release in the fall of 2006 to coincide with Star Trek’s 40th anniversary, the Windows version did not arrive in North America until December 6, 2006, and the Xbox 360 version did not arrive until December 15. On December 22, 2006, both the PC version and the Xbox 360 version were released in Europe.

In the game, players command a fleet of various Federation starships (up to four) in combat against various races across three different Star Trek eras. Star Trek Legacy marks the first time that the five actors who played each of the captains in the five individual Star Trek shows, William Shatner, Patrick Stewart, Avery Brooks, Kate Mulgrew, and Scott Bakula, have all worked on the same project at the same time. The PC version of Star Trek: Legacy received mostly negative feedback, whereas the Xbox 360 version fared slightly better with critics.

    [title] Gameplay

Players command a squadron of one to four 3D-modeled starships and engage in battles with other starships. Pitch, yaw, and forward propulsion are used to control the movement of the starship (as well as a straight-line “warp” capability for rapid movement across a map). Movement takes place in a fully 3D “pizza box” environment. The player controls a single starship at a time, controlling weapon fire, movement, and repairs, and can switch between each of their squadron’s starships. Players can also switch from a 3D display to a top-down 2D tactical display, from which they can issue specific commands to ships in a task force; for example, the player can order a ship to warp to a specific point on the map.

The viewpoint can be controlled in a variety of ways, with players able to “lock” onto an opponent to ensure that the opponent is always in the center of the screen, to look straight ahead, or to rotate the camera around the selected ship. Starships are classified based on their weapon strength and maneuverability and are assigned a set number of points that roughly correspond to the ship’s strength. The player earns “command points” during each mission and can spend these points between missions to add new ships to their squadron.

Aside from the linear campaign, there is also a customizable skirmish mode. The map on which to play, the number of ships per squadron, the number of command points allowed, the race and allegiance of each AI player, and the composition of their own squadron are all chosen by the players. In skirmish mode, players are not limited to controlling Starfleet vessels as they are in the campaign; they can also control ships from the various races encountered in the campaign, such as the Borg, Klingons, and Romulans. The “coop wave” mode is a mode of play included in later versions of Star Trek: Legacy in which a player (along with up to 6 other “squadrons/fleets”) defends a station from assault by increasingly difficult-to-defeat enemy fleets that increase in gradual waves. Bethesda has also released a mission editor tool that allows users to freely customize missions.

The PC version of Star Trek: Legacy includes a number of modification tools. The “Ultimate Universe Mod” is one such mod, which allows players to use a mass armada (with both sides’ ships chosen from a list of 450+ starships from all races) or battle with pre-determined ships for both sides. Ultimate Universe introduces a new mode called “Historical Battles,” in which players can fight famous Star Trek battles from multiple perspectives.

  • True Crime New York City

    True Crime New York City

    Game Description

True Crime New York City is an open world action-adventure video game released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube by Luxoflux. Aspyr ported it to Microsoft Windows, and Hands-On Mobile ported it to mobile. Activision released it on all platforms. The PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube versions debuted in November 2005, followed by the PC version in March 2006 and the mobile version in March 2007. After True Crime: Streets of LA in 2003, this is the second and final installment in the True Crime franchise.

Marcus Reed, a former New York City gang member turned police officer, is the protagonist of True Crime New York CityTrue Crime New York City. Reed witnesses the death of his mentor on his first night on the job after being promoted to detective in the Organized Crime Unit. Reed sets out to find out who killed his friend and bring down the mole, with the help of an FBI agent investigating a mole in the OCU. True Crime: New York City includes a 25-square-mile (65-square-kilometer) recreation of Manhattan, with GPS accuracy for most street names, major landmarks, and highways.

New York City received mixed reviews from critics and overwhelmingly negative reviews from gamers, with critics and gamer reviewers citing numerous technical and graphical glitches, leading many to speculate that the game’s final stages of development were rushed in order for it to be released in time for Christmas. True Crime: New York City was also a commercial failure, selling only 72,000 units across all platforms in North America in its first two weeks of release, far less than Streets of LA. Its underwhelming critical reception and poor sales figures contributed to the True Crime franchise’s demise. Originally planned as the first of a two-part series set in New York and starring Marcus Reed, Activision scrapped the direct sequel and put future True Crime games on hold due to the game’s poor performance. They hired United Front Games in 2007 to create an open-world game set in Hong Kong. By 2009, True Crime New York City had evolved into True Crime: Hong Kong. However, True Crime New York City was canceled in 2011. Square Enix acquired the publishing rights several months later, and True Crime: Hong Kong was eventually renamed Sleeping Dogs, with no ties to the True Crime series. Activision dropped the True Crime trademark entirely in 2014.

    Game Description

Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 is a skateboarding video game published by Activision and developed by Neversoft. It is the second installment in Tony Hawk’s series of sports games, and it was released for the PlayStation in 2000, followed by ports to Microsoft Windows, Game Boy Color, and Dreamcast the following year. The game was released in 2001 for the Mac OS, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and Xbox (as part of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x). Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 employs the same game engine as its predecessor while improving graphics and gameplay, most notably through the addition of manuals and cash rewards. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 switch takes place in a three-dimensional urban setting surrounded by punk rock and hip-hop music. The player controls a variety of skateboarders who either perform skateboarding tricks or collect various objects. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 switch has several modes of play, including a career mode in which the player must complete objectives and evolve their character’s attributes with earned profits, a free-play mode in which the player may skate without any given objective, a multiplayer mode with a number of competitive games, and a level editor in which the player can create their own levels.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 switch was released to critical acclaim and is regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time, as well as the highest-rated sports video game. All versions of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 were praised for their addictive gameplay, large environments, detailed graphics, fluid and precise controls, customization features, and soundtrack, with minor criticism directed at the lack of a first-person camera and the truncated soundtrack of the Nintendo 64 version.

    [title] Gameplay

There are several types of gameplay in Barnyard, ranging from missions to a mini-game system. Players take on the roles of various farm animals as they progress through nine chapters. An extra farm animal may be unlocked if you were playing Nickelodeon games at the time that were part of the ‘Crossover’ event. As players progress through Barnyard chapters, they meet new characters, unlock new areas, gain more in-game currency, and so on. Players move around the back of the Barnyard cast, either exploring the area(s) the Barnyard movie has to offer or following the story and completing the missions by going to the barn animal that sent a text message to the player’s phones. Players can find these characters by looking for the ‘!’ on the map and taking the shortest path to it. The barnyard variety grows as players progress through the chapters. There are numerous references to the back at the Barnyard cast throughout the game, including dialogue from the characters and specific in-game objects. However, as players progress through the game, they lose the same playable character, Ben, that is lost in the film. As players progress through the game, specifically Chapter 8, things only get worse as the back at the Barnyard’s leader, Otis, flees and players are put in charge. However, the tides change abruptly when the player, the other animals, and Otis make one last stand against the final boss. It should be noted that the number of missions available varies depending on the chapter being played.

    [title] Gameplay

The original game’s gameplay, which was primarily a wrestling game, has been expanded. Fighters can select one, two, or three of the five fighting styles available. Streetfighting, Kickboxing, Martial Arts, Wrestling, and Submissions are the fighting styles.

Furthermore, Def Jam Fight for NY PS4 emphasizes the use of Def Jam Fight for NY’s various environments as well as the surrounding crowd to inflict damage. Tossing the opponent against barriers allows fighters to inflict massive damage on their opponent by slamming them into the wall headfirst, ramming a door or gate in their face, or utilizing other environmental features. If a fighter is thrown into them or gets too close, the crowd will shove him back into combat, sometimes holding a fighter and leaving them open to attack. Some spectators carry weapons and will offer them to the fighters or even attack them if they are being held by a nearby onlooker.
