Platform game Crash Bandicoot: Warped, also known as Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped in Europe, was created by Naughty Dog and released for the PlayStation in 1998. After Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, is the third game in the Crash Bandicoot video game series.
The events of the second game are promptly followed by those in this game. When Doctor Neo Cortex’s space station’s wreckage crashes on Earth, it unleashes Uka Uka, the evil twin of Aku Aku, who teams up with Cortex and the time-obsessed Doctor Nefarious Trophy in their scheme to collect potent crystals that are dispersed throughout time and use their energy to subjugate the Earth. As they journey across time to stop the bad guys from gathering the crystals by gathering them themselves, the game’s protagonists Crash and Coco Bandicoot are followed.
Critics praised Crash Bandicoot: Warped, praising its excellent quality in gameplay, visuals, and audio. It is now regarded as one of the greatest video games ever made. It went on to become one of the best-selling PlayStation video games with sales of about 6 million units. The game became the first non-Japanese PlayStation product to sell over 1 million copies in Japan, outpacing the sales of its two predecessors. The Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy collection for the PlayStation 4 released a remastered version in June 2017, and a transfer to other platforms followed in June 2018.
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, the sequel, was published in 2001. As a retelling of the games that were initially released after Warped, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time was released in 2020.

Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped Gameplay
The protagonists of the platform game Warped, Crash, and Coco Bandicoot, have to journey through time to collect 25 scattered crystals before Doctor Neo Cortex and Uka Uka. The Time-Twisting Machine, the game’s central location, is where most of the action happens. There are five chambers in the Time-Twisting Machine, although only the first chamber is initially accessible. Five buttons in each room open doors to various levels. Finding and obtaining the crystal that is buried in the environment is the objective of each level. The crystal may be found at the conclusion of a level in some levels or may have to be acquired by successfully completing a particular task. A “Bonus Platform” can be found in some stages, leading to a unique bonus region where the player must travel and collect whatever they see. The bonus areas can be played through as many times as the player wants until the bonus area can be cleared because there are no lives lost in the bonus areas. When all five stages in a chamber have been completed, a sixth button that activates a boss level gateway will show up. The following chamber can be explored after beating the boss. The game is over when all 25 Crystals are located and all five boss enemies are eliminated.
Both Crash and Coco have five lives when the game begins. When someone is hit by an enemy strike or sustains any other kind of injury, they lose a life. By gathering 100 “Wumpa Fruits” or by cracking open a unique box to obtain a life, players can acquire more lives. The game ends if the player runs out of life. On the “Continue?” prompt, you can choose “Yes” to continue. Crash can jump into the air and land on an adversary, whirl like a tornado to push adversaries off the screen, slide over the ground, and perform a body slam to smash some objects. By eliminating boss characters, these skills can be improved, frequently leading to stronger assaults or improved jumping and running abilities.
In Warped, boxes play a significant part and can be destroyed using any of Crash’s skills. Boxes can either increase Crash’s movement or hold useful goods. When a player loses a life, checkpoints allow them to go back to a certain place on the stage. Nitro Boxes explode on any physical touch, whereas TNT Boxes explode when pounced on after a three-second fuse. It is necessary to make contact with a green box marked with an exclamation point (!) in order to detonate all of the Nitro Boxes at a level at once. Nitro Boxes contribute to the level’s total number of broken boxes.
For added achievement, gems, including both ordinary and colored types, can also be gathered in addition to crystals. The player receives gems if they successfully unlock all of the boxes in a level or finish the secret section. The game contains 45 gems in all. Colored gems can be found in particular levels and open doors to secret places. The game contains 5 different coloured gems. Re-entering a level after obtaining its crystal will grant you “Relics.” The player must start the “Time Trial” mode by hitting the floating timer near the beginning of the level, and then they must complete each level in the allotted time that is shown before entering it in order to get a Relic. Yellow crates with the numbers 1, 2, or 3 on them are strewn about the level. The timer is frozen for the specified number of seconds when one of these crates is broken. The level can be played through as many times as the player wants in the Time Trial mode because no lives are lost. Depending on how poorly the player does in the final round, Sapphire, Gold, or Platinum Relics can be won. The player can enter a level in the “Secret Warp Room” after receiving the first five relics. The Secret Warp Room then unlocks a new level every five relics. Before the game can be finished, the levels of the Secret Warp Room must be successfully completed.
