The Polar Express is a platform game inspired by the film of the same name. Blue Tongue Entertainment created it for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Microsoft Windows. Tantalus Media created a version for the Game Boy Advance. THQ published all versions of the game. It was released on November 2, 2004, in North America and on December 16, 2004, in Europe. The Xbox version was planned, but it was never released.

The game follows most of the film’s main plot. One major difference is that the Ebenezer Scrooge Puppet, who only appears briefly in the film, plays a much larger role as the main antagonist, attempting to prevent the children from believing in Santa Claus by stealing their tickets and attempting to have them thrown off the train to prevent the children from reaching the North Pole. The game is divided into six episodes, allowing the player to explore locations such as the train, the North Pole, and others. In each of the six chapters, the player takes control of a young boy. The game also includes puzzle-solving and minigame-style components.
