ParaWorld

Game Description

ParaWorld is a real-time strategy PC game released on September 25, 2006. It was created by the Berlin-based German company SEK (Spieleentwicklungskombinat). The game includes over 50 prehistoric animals, mostly dinosaurs and Pleistocene mammals. Because the game employs TAGES, a driver for copy protection is installed on the system.

Gameplay

The game concept is similar to that of “Age of Empires,” a real-time strategy game. Food, wood, and stone are all resources in ParaWorld. Food can be foraged from bushes, hunted by animals, fished from the sea, or grown on a farm. Stone is found in limited deposits, whereas wood, which is cut from trees, is generally scattered across a map. Battles can take place on both land and sea.

The story is set in a parallel dimension where prehistoric life coexists with various human civilizations that are not technologically advanced. As a result, dinosaurs replace traditional wildlife and livestock, though some of the dinosaurs in-game are highly stylized and may not be scientifically accurate. Wild dinosaurs can be hunted for food, but some are dangerous and aggressive species that will attack any player unit that gets too close. Other prehistoric creatures appear as well; for example, woolly mammoths are used in places where elephants might be found in other games.

Players advance through epochs in order to unlock new technologies and upgrades.

How to play on Windows

1. Download and Extract ParaWorld_v1.01_Win_Preinstalled_EN.zip
2. Go into \Game Files\ParaWorld\bin and run “Paraworld.exe”
3. Use one of the keys found inside “Serial Keys.txt” to enter the game
4. Play the game (Note: Press Alt + Enter to alternate between Windowed and Full-Screen)
