Characters in Section 8 video games wear powered armor suits that increase mobility and offer damage absorption. Players have the option of activating vertical thrusters (jetpack) to reach new heights or using “overdrive” to move horizontally at superhuman speeds.
Fixed spawn places are eliminated by allowing players to “burn-in” by descending onto the battlefield from orbital dropships hanging at 15,000 feet (5200 meters) above the ground. By allowing the player to select where they drop on the map during “burning-in,” the game’s element of surprise is strengthened. The player can use the “air-brake” feature, which enables mid-air changes, to avoid or lessen these circumstances. This procedure is interactive because players can be shot down upon entry by other players and anti-aircraft guns equally.
Teams of players are encouraged to accomplish goals and stand up for one another. To defend friendly-controlled objectives, they can set up defensive buildings like Mini-Gun Turrets, Rocket Turrets, Anti-Air Turrets, Supply Depots, or Sensor Arrays. They can also set up vehicles like Tanks or Heavy Armor that can be used to attack enemy-controlled objectives. These can be bought by players using “Requisition Points,” which are rewarded to them for various actions they take while playing.
Assault rifles, handguns, shotguns, and sniper rifles, as well as grenades, explosives, knives, mortar launchers, and healing units, are among the primary and secondary weapons available to players. By stacking different modules that control the character’s speed, stealth, or regeneration of the limited-use jetpack, the player can even design their own player class. The player may be unable to use these improvements if they sustain a lot of damage to their legs, limbs, head, or chest, among other body regions.
When successfully completed, Dynamic Combat Missions (DCMs), a form of mini-game, can provide the player with Requisition Points while in the middle of a battle. Some DCMs will involve guarding a convoy, gathering intelligence, or killing an adversary.
Campaign
The “Corde’s Story” single-player campaign option in Section 8 game 2020 enables players to take control of Alex Corde of the 8th Armored Infantry. The first several missions take place on the dry planet New Madrid, and then they shift to a planet with a more temperate climate. Eight objective-based missions on the same multiplayer maps make up the single-player campaign, which serves as a tutorial for multiplayer play.
Multiplayer
Section 8 video game includes X-Server capabilities, allowing users to manage up to 32 players simultaneously on their own dedicated servers for Xbox 360 games using a Windows-based PC. A Windows-based PC can be used to host dedicated servers with up to 32 players in the PlayStation 3 version, which uses TGNServer technology. Additionally, the PC version supports up to 32 players on P2P servers and 40 players on dedicated servers. In multiplayer games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC, additional spots may be filled by computer-controlled characters (bots).
