Game Description
Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest is an expansion pack for Empire Earth, a real-time strategy game. Art of Conquest, like the first game, was published by Sierra Entertainment, but it was developed by Mad Doc Software. It was released in the United States on September 17, 2002. Later that year, the game was launched in Europe, and the following year, in Japan. Empire Earth’s Gold Edition, which includes both the original and the expansion, was released on May 6, 2003.
Art of Conquest enhanced the original Empire Earth with new troops, civilizations (Japan and Korea), civilization powers, and hero units. Art of Conquest also includes three new campaigns: Ancient Rome, World War II, and Mars in the 24th century. The Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest garnered mixed reviews, with a 66% average on GameRankings.

The gameplay of Art of Conquest is similar to that of the original Empire Earth, with a few differences. The variable difficulty has been added to those situations that did not acquire it in an Empire Earth patch. Online multiplayer capabilities have been introduced, allowing users to play online with up to seven other players through the Internet or a local area network (LAN).
The new Space Age (Epoch XV) permits the construction of spaceports and spacecraft on maps that support it. In the Nano Age, robots replace citizens, while in the Space Age, infantry replaces infantry (these robots are known as Watchmen). Farms in the Nano Age are operated by robots, and farms in the Space Age are no longer managed by humans. Each civilization has its unique power, often known as “Civ Power.” These abilities are frequently restricted to specific epochs. Civ Power grants each nation a specialty: the Chinese, for example, have the ability “just-in-time manufacturing,” while the Japanese have the ability “cyber ninja.”
Empire Earth supports both LAN and internet multiplayer. Multiplayer games have the same format as single-player games. There are numerous vulnerabilities in Art of Conquest multiplayer gaming that players can utilize to get an unfair advantage. Vivendi Games, the game’s publisher, has put up forums where users may report vulnerabilities. On November 1, 2008, the multiplayer servers were taken offline; users can now only play through the local area networks and Direct IP.
