    Game Description

    Tennis for Two (also known as Computer Tennis) is a sports video game that simulates a game of tennis. It was one of the first games created in the history of video games. After discovering that the government research institution’s Donner Model 30 analog computer could simulate trajectories with wind resistance, American physicist William Higinbotham created Tennis for Two in 1958 for display at the Brookhaven National Laboratory’s annual public exhibition. He created Tennis for Two in a matter of hours, and he and technician Robert V. Dvorak worked on it for three weeks. Table Tennis for Two was played with two custom aluminum controllers and was displayed on an oscilloscope. Its visuals depict a tennis court from the side, and players adjust the angle of their shots with a knob on their controller before attempting to hit the ball over the net by pressing a button.

    During the three-day exhibition, players waited in line to see Tennis for Two, especially high school students. The following year, it was shown again, this time with a larger oscilloscope screen and a more complicated design that could simulate different gravity levels. It was then dismantled and largely forgotten until the late 1970s when Higinbotham testified about Table Tennis for Two in court during Magnavox and Ralph H. Baer’s video game patent lawsuits. It has since been recognized as one of the first video games, and Brookhaven has recreated the original device. Tennis for Two is considered the first video game by some because, while it did not include any technological innovations over previous games, it was the first computer game created purely for entertainment rather than academic research or commercial technology promotion.

    Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland is a skateboarding video game published by Activision and developed by Neversoft. It is the seventh instalment in the Tony Hawk’s series, and it was first released in 2005 for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox in North America on October 18, 2005, and on October 28 in Europe, with several ports for other systems following.

    Tony Hawk American Wasteland is the first Tony Hawk game to support Xbox Live; previously, online play was limited to the PlayStation 2 and Microsoft Windows. Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land was released on the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance on the same day as the console versions. The DS version includes Wi-Fi and was the first third-party DS game to support online play.

    Tony Hawk American Wasteland is the first game in the Tony Hawk’s franchise to advertise and allow players to play in a single large level via storey mode, which actually seamlessly connects a number of levels without loading times in between, as well as the first game in the series to allow players to freely commandeer stray bicycles and perform freestyle BMX techniques similar to skateboarding. The Bert Slide is a new manoeuvre added to skateboarding controls. In the September 2005 issue of Game Informer, a map of American Wasteland’s Los Angeles was shown, along with an overhead view of the Boston stage from Underground 2. With the exception of the “Vans Skatepark” and “Casino” areas, the Boston level appeared to be roughly three-quarters the size of one American Wasteland area.

    Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 is a skateboarding video game published by Activision and developed by Neversoft. It is the second installment in Tony Hawk’s series of sports games, and it was released for the PlayStation in 2000, followed by ports to Microsoft Windows, Game Boy Color, and Dreamcast the following year. The game was released in 2001 for the Mac OS, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64, and Xbox (as part of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2x). Later, in 2006, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 was ported to Windows Mobile and Windows Phone devices, and in 2010, it was ported to iOS devices.

    Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 employs the same game engine as its predecessor while improving graphics and gameplay, most notably through the addition of manuals and cash rewards. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1+2 switch takes place in a three-dimensional urban setting surrounded by punk rock and hip-hop music. The player controls a variety of skateboarders who either perform skateboarding tricks or collect various objects.
